Charles II - 1677Charles II - 1677
Stunning milled coin made just 11 years after the Great Fire of London!

This coin is special because it is "milled", which means it was made by a machine. This means it is smaller than the hammered coins and the definition is much clearer because of the amount of pressure that could be used.

These coins are highly desireable and becoming very scarce. If you are looking for something really special, this is it!

Bawbee - 1678
The Bawbee was originally a Scottish silver sixpence. Over time the Scottish were forced to debase their coinage, this means it was made out of copper instead of silver. It retained it's value but was not accepted outside Scotland. It ended up being valued at 1/2 a penny and the word "Bawbee" is now associated with something worthless. The front of the coin has the bust of Charles II.

They are not worthless today though, Bawbees are quite uncommon. Please not that the Bawbee is included here because of it's rich history and connection with the sixpence. It is not silver and is bigger than the contemporary sixpence, we wouldn't advise you to place it in your shoe!!
