Sixpences were only issued in the last two years of the reign of William and Mary and therefore examples are not very common. Coins can be found in most grades and prices rise steeply for the better grades.
During the reign of William and Mary LLoyds insurance was founded (1688), the Battle of the Boyne was fought (1690), the Bank of England was founded (1694).
