Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Pick up the phone and call us on 01747 838074 or browse our catalog and click on the sixpence you want to buy. As part of the checkout process you will be prompted for the names of the bride and groom, the date and venue of the wedding and a personal message to be placed on the scroll. All of this is included in the purchase price. Postage costs will be added at the checkout depending on which service you require.

The contract to purchase from The Silver Sixpence Company Ltd will not be binding until the goods are shipped to you. Please note that if you ask us to search for a special sixpence for you you will not be under obligation to buy and we will not require any deposit prior to purchase. None of these terms affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Shipping And Handling All shipping is done using the Royal Mail. First Class post (within the UK) should ensure delivery within 2 working days. For Special Sixpences we recommend Special Delivery, this service insures your purchase up to the value of £250.

For non UK sales we use the Royal Mail Air mail service.
Delivery Schedule The Silver Sixpence Company Ltd will normally despatch your order in 2 - 7 working days. If a longer time period is required we will notify you by email and you may then choose to cancel your order if you wish.

Because of the scarcity of silver sixpences, if you require something special it may take us some time to locate the coin for you. Let us know the date of the wedding and we will do our best to find a coin that matches your requirements - if we are unable to source the coin for you we will let you know at least 2 weeks before your wedding day.
Tax Charges All prices exclude VAT at 17.5%. Orders outside the European Union are VAT exempt - please tick the exemption button when ordering.
Credit Card Security We take security very seriously!

We have purchased our own Secure Socket Layer (the software that encrypts your data and lets you see the Golden Padlock) and to ensure maximum security we have purchased the top level of security with 128bit encryption.

The credit card check out process is encrypted and you will see the Golden Padlock symbol which means that your credit card details are secure. This data will not be decoded until it reaches our computer. Once on our computer your details are protected by a Fire Wall program that prevents anyone from gaining access to the data.

Limitation of Liability

Whilst it is a tradition to place a sixpence in the bride's shoe on the day of the wedding we cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to the sixpence or the shoe nor any other item used in relation to the sixpence.

We shall not be liable to you for any delay in, or omission of, publication or transmission or any error in any advertisement, nor delay in posting or delivery, in the absence of default or neglect on our part.

Time for us to perform any obligations is not and may not be made of the essence.

Notwithstanding anything contained in these Terms, except in respect of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, we will not be liable for any loss of profits, consequential, economic, or indirect loss arising in any way in connection with the performance (or non-performance) of the obligations related to providing the Services.

If we are unable to resolve your query immediately we will let you know how long we estimate it will take and will keep you informed throughout the process.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and the Which? Web Trader Code.

Returns Policy If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason you may cancel your order within seven working days from the day after the goods are received by you for a full refund. In the event of cancellation please notify us by email or by writing to the address below.

Please return your purchase to the address below ensuring it is securely wrapped and has the appropriate postage paid. If you do not return your purchase we will recover the goods and deduct direct costs from your refund.

Refunds will be made within 30 days. The terms of this contract do not affect your statutory rights.
